Cash boost to adventure centre

Police in Medway have presented a cheque to staff at the Arethusa Centre.
Last Thursday, 19 June, officers attended the adventure centre to present a £400 cheque to Manager and Senior Instructor, Mike Booth. The cash will go towards buying new canoes for use by disadvantaged children from over the South East who take part in courses run by the centre.
The donation was coordinated by Pc Paul Newberry, who said: ‘I am delighted that the Arethusa Centre were able to benefit from the police property fund. They provide an excellent facility to the community and offer young people something positive to channel their energies into.’
The cash has been donated from the police property fund which is made up from the sale of property, which has come into police possession either as unclaimed lost property, or items that have been the subject of a crime (and when it has not been possible to trace the rightful owners).
